Fourth of July Events in Your City

The Fourth of July is almost here and residents are ready to see fireworks light up the night sky.

Minnesota is preparing for a big summer of events with parades, festivals, contests and of course, fireworks. Here's a list of events happening by town:


Afton's annual Fourth of July parade and celebration starts at 12:00 noon followed by music by the Zing Rays and a food and beer tent. The events will be at Town Square Park between Upper 34th Street S and 34th Street S. For more information click here.


Andover is hosting their annual Family Fun Fest starting July 12 at 5 p.m. and all day July 13. Fireworks are on July 13 at 10 p.m. For more information click here. Some of the highlight events:

The 2013 Edina Fourth of July Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. behind City Hall at Wittson Road and Eden Avenue. This year’s theme is “Edina: Making History Since 1888.”

Fireworks are at Rosland Park at 10:00 p.m. after a concert by the First John Phillips Sousa Memorial Band.

During Maple Grove Days, July 10-14, the city will feature parades, games, food, competitions, street dances and much more at the Maple Grove Community Center. Fireworks will be on July 13. For more information click here.


For the second year in a row the Maplewood Fourth of July fest is back at Hazelwood Park, 1663 County Road C East. Fireworks will be on July 4 at Hazelwood Park. There will also be inflatables, entertainment and food starting at 4 p.m. For more information click here.


Fireworks will be on July 4 at 10 p.m. at the Mendakota Country Club, 2075 Mendakota Dr.


The celebration starts at 4 p.m. at Richard Walton Park at the corner of 15th Street and Hadley venue. The Rockin’ Hollywoods will play from 7-10 p.m. with a fireworks celebration after.


Music in Plymouth begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 2 at Hilde Performance Center. Fireworks take place at 10:15 p.m. Click here for more details.

Red Wing

Note: If you're hoping to catch fireworks in Red Wing this Fourth of July you're out of luck. The volunteer group that raises money for the display didn't raise enough, so the show won't go on. You're closest option is in Lake City, about 15 miles to the south. There you can catch fireworks over Lake Pepin.


Richfield will host three days of family fun during their Fourth of July celebrations. This yearthere will not be a carnival due to increased gang activity, according to a Richfield spokesperson. For more information click here.

Whiz Bang Days will take place again this year at different locations in Robbinsdale on July 11-14. There are way too many events to list here but some of the highlight events include a block party on Friday, a 5K car show on Saturday and a parade on Sunday. For more information click here.


Fireworks will be on display on the Fourth of July as a part of Rosefest, the weeklong festival beginning Saturday, June 22. The Rosefest runs until June 30 and then has an all-day event on the fourth. The Fourth of July events will culminate with a concert by a community band and fireworks beginning at 10 p.m. over Lake Bennett at Central Park. More information is available by clicking here. Stillwater will have a larger fireworks display than last year according to a Stillwater spokesperson. It will also be put to music on July 4 at 10 p.m. over the St. Croix River at Lowell Park.


The tradition of fireworks at Aquilla Park is still going strong this year. A special performance by Stevie and the Table Rockers will be at the park 7 to 9:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at approximately 10 p.m.


The City of St. Paul will have a fireworks show in downtown St. Paul on July 4. It will take place from the riverfront area around 10:15 p.m. Click here for more details.


The 38th Annual Vadnais Heights Heritage Days is August 14-18. Events include a kiddie parade, games, bingo, car show, food, fireworks, music and much more. For more information click here.


Waconia will have fireworks on July 4 over Lake Waconia.


The Fourth of July celebration will be at Ojibway Park. Music by 8 Foot 4 starts at 7 p.m. with a fireworks show after at 10 p.m.
